FIRE 269 - Fire Investigator I
3 hrs (Sem I)
This course addresses the minimum classroom lecture and practicum training and education standards as outlined by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security for Fire Investigator I certification as set out in Chapter 4 of NFPA 1033, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator, 2022 Edition, published by the National Fire Protection Association, Quincy, MA. Students successfully completing the course will be eligible to sit for the state Fire Investigator I certification exam. Attendance and successful completion of the college course and/or program does not guarantee licensure or certification. 2 lecture hours, and a minimum of 45 practicum hours.
Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in FIRE 155 ; or permission from the Fire Program Department Chair.
