FIRE 155 - Firefighter I
5 hrs (Sem II)
This course addresses the minimum classroom lecture and psychomotor (hands-on) training and education standards as outlined by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security for Firefighter I certification as set out in Chapter 4 of that certain document titled NFPA1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, 2019 Edition, published by the National Fire Protection Association, Quincy, MA. Students successfully completing the course will be eligible to sit for the state Firefighter I certification exam. Attendance and successful completion of the college course and/or program does not guarantee licensure or certification. 4 lecture hours, and a minimum of 80 practicum hours.
Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in FIRE 151 ; or permission from the Fire Program Department Chair.
