SOCL 245 - Cultural Diversity: Sociology 3 hrs (Sem I, II) Utilizing a sociological approach, this course will provide students with an opportunity to explore their own ethnic roots. In addition, it will increase their understanding of the main ethnic groups in the United States: Appalachians, Native Americans, Afro-Americans, Asian-Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Hispanics. The social and religious impact on the cultural integration of these groups will be introduced. Discussions on how these aspects of United States culture may affect international dialogues will also be included. SOCL 245 and HUMN 245 - Cultural Diversity: Humanities are equivalent courses; therefore, students with credit in SOCL 245 will NOT receive additional credit in HUMN 245 . 3 class hours.
Writing Reading and Speaking Intensive Course
Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in ENGL 101 .
