CHEM 131 - Chemistry Explorations
1 hr (Sem I, II)
This course is intended for students considering a major in Chemical Sciences. It is meant to engage students in their academic program and the college. Students will participate in research projects involving chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, food science or environmental health science. The goals of the course are to give students a sense of community, explore problems in a team-based setting, develop important scientific and critical thinking skills, introduce students to academic resources available at the college, and explore potential career fields. Students with credit in BIOL 131 - Biology Explorations or GEOS 131 - Agriculture and Natural Resources Explorations may NOT receive credit for CHEM 131 . 3 laboratory hours.
Prerequisite(s): Students must qualify for ENGL 010 or ENGL 079 , or higher; and must qualify for MATH 013 , MATT 017 , or higher.
