PMTD 112 - Machining Fundamentals II 2 hrs (Sem I) This course builds on the skills learned in PMTD 111 , further advancing hands-on experience with milling machines, lathes, and surface and pedestal grinders. Emphasis is placed on shop safety, industrial terminology, precision measurement, and the correct use of tools and equipment. Students will continue to refine their ability to interpret blueprints, calculate speeds and feeds, and perform machining operations. The focus shifts to mastering more complex machine setups and multi-component assembly projects, preparing students for the entry-level apprentice machinist level of precision and complexity in the final course. This course incorporates Indiana Tooling-U Grinding, Layout, Milling, Turning, and Sawing Standards Certification assessments. 1 lecture hour, 3 laboratory hours.
Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in PMTD 111 .
