FIRE 150 - Hazardous Materials - Awareness

1 hr (Sem I, II)
This course addresses the minimum training and education standards for Hazardous Materials First Responder-Awareness certification as set out in Chapter 4 of NFPA 472, Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents, 2018 Edition, published by the National Fire Protection Association, Quincy, MA. Students successfully completing the course will be eligible to sit for the state Hazardous Materials First Responder-Awareness certification exam. Attendance and successful completion of the college course and/or program does not guarantee licensure or certification. 1 lecture/laboratory hour.
