HSPS 205 - Introduction to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

3 hrs (Sem I)
This course will give Homeland Security and Public Safety majors and students from other academic disciplines an introduction to the exciting and rapidly developing field of drone technology (UAS).  Students will learn how to effectively use UAS for disaster management, aerial surveillance, search and rescue, crime scene analysis and reconstruction, crowd control, missing persons, suspect tracking, and active shooting incidents.  At the conclusion of the course, students can independently apply for and take the FAA Aeronautical Knowledge Test (Part 107 Test). 3 lecture hours.
