A Two-Year Program Leading to the A.S. Degree
This program satisfies the Chemistry Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP) created under Indiana Senate Enrolled Act 182 passed in 2013. A degree in chemical sciences is an excellent preparation for a career in chemistry, biochemistry, clinical laboratory, dentistry, food science, veterinary science, optometry, and pharmacy. Chemists and Biochemists are much in demand for research and teaching in universities and for research and development in chemical and pharmaceutical industries, medical laboratories, and state and federal governments because the graduates acquire an outstanding range of skills in mathematical competence, problem-solving, data handling, analysis, observation, team work, communication, and report writing that employers value greatly.
Students will work with their advisors in developing their schedule according to their career goals. VU Chemical Sciences students are given excellent leadership and volunteer opportunities related to their concentrations throughout their two years at VU.
