A Two-Year Program Leading to the A.S. Degree

The fire science A.S. degree program is designed to prepare graduates for a position and/or promotion in the fire service, EMS (Emergency Medical Service) and related fields. Students will receive a broad all-hazards education to prepare them for the fire/EMS industry of today.  Students may be required to obtain their own personal protective equipment, including but not limited to boots, bunker pants, suspenders, coat, hood, gloves and helmet, that is fully compliant with applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.  Proof of a firefighter physical may be required for some classes.  This program has the flexibility to suit the recent high school graduate or the experienced first responder who desires to further their education and career.
