A Two-Year Program Leading to the A.S. Degree

This curriculum prepares graduates for employment in different industries as a Maintenance Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Renewable Energy Technician, Engineering Technician, Industrial Programmer, Field Service Engineer, Industrial Controls Technician, System Integration Technician, Sales, and many other high tech employment opportunities in automated manufacturing. Graduates are prepared to install, program, interface, service, troubleshoot, and implement automated equipment, and robotic systems for various applications. Graduates are well prepared in electronics, robotic systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), instrumentation, process control, hydraulics and pneumatics, mechanical drive systems, industrial networking, and industrial control circuits. Graduates are prepared to work in diverse industries such as; food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, renewable energy, automotive, consumer goods, power plants, refineries, and any other manufacturing industry. Starting salaries and job opportunities are great for graduates who enter the exciting career of automated manufacturing, robotics, and energy manufacturing. Students intending to complete the Purdue University Industrial Technology B.S. Degree through the VU partnership program are encouraged to consult with their advisor regarding specific course requirements not listed in this catalog.
