A Two-Year Program Leading to the A.A.S. Degree
The Mining Technology curriculum was developed as collaboration between Vincennes University and the mining industry within Indiana. This curricula provides its graduates with an understanding of the industry. Specifically, it provides an understanding of methods, materials, laws, environment, health and safety applicable to the industry. Graduates of this program will progress to managerial and leadership positions within the industry.

General Education Requirements
See General Education in this catalog for a complete description of the general education and assessment requirements. Note
The Reading Intensive requirement may be met by MGMT 250 or MGMT 256 .
The Writing Intensive requirement may be met by MGMT 250 .
The Speaking Intensive requirement may be met by CIMT 190 .
The Mathematics Intensive requirement may be met by a subsequent mathematics course or by passing a mathematics assessment examination.
A grade of C or better is required in all Basic Skills courses. Liberal Education Core (18)
One course from a Liberal Education Core list in one of the following areas:
- Humanities, Science, Social Science or Writing 3 hrs
- Science Elective – Common Core List 3 hrs

(This sequence assumes any necessary developmental requirements have been met.) Note
Lecture/laboratory classes are designed to be taken concurrently. They cannot be taken separately or dropped separately. Failure in either the lecture or lab will require that the entire course be taken again. Students wishing to withdraw from either the lecture or lab must withdraw from both. |
