A Two-Year General Program Leading to the A.A.S. or A.S. Degree
General Studies is a program designed for three types of students – students who have not selected a specific major; students who have changed their educational goal but cannot fulfill all graduation requirements for a new major; or students who seek to tailor their program for a particular transfer institution, without meeting program specific requirements at Vincennes University. The hours of freely chosen electives may be any combination of 100 and 200 level courses which best serve students’ needs or interests. An additional 15 hours of 200-level elective courses are required for the program. For students enrolled in the Florida Education Program: Licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. See General Education in this catalog for a complete description of the general education and assessment requirements. Note
The Reading Intensive requirement may be met by a Social Science elective.
The Writing and Speaking Intensive requirements may be met by a Humanities elective.
The Mathematics Intensive requirement may be met by a subsequent mathematics course or by passing a mathematics assessment examination.
A grade of C or better is required in all Basic Skills courses. Liberal Education Core (20-21)
Note
The Computer Skills requirement is met by Computers Across the Curriculum. Recommended Sequence of Courses for A.S.

1 SSKL 103 - Study Skills required of all General Studies students taking 2 or more developmental classes, one of which is READ 009 or ENGL 009 . Partners for Success is strongly recommended for these students. |
