MASG 272 - Spa Management and Massage Modalities

3 hrs (Sem I)
This course covers various spa enhancements that can be used to supplement the healing effects of massage, including paraffin treatments, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy and essential oils, hot stone massage, and other modalities. Indications and contraindications to treatments are emphasized. This course emphasizes the scope of practice for massage therapy in the spa setting. 2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours.

Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in MASG 210  and MASG 250  or National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork certification. Corequisite(s): MASG 240 .
