PHRM 212 - Pharmacy Simulation and Skills Lab


3 hrs (Sem I)
This course advances students from foundational competencies to higher-level technical skills necessary for pharmacy practice. Through immersive simulation in both community and institutional settings, students develop proficiency in prescription processing, medication preparation, safety and compliance procedures, drug distribution systems, automation technologies, inventory control, and patient-centered workflows. Students will engage in both sterile and non-sterile compounding with an emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, quality assurance, and adherence to USP standards. Additional focus is placed on professional communication, regulatory documentation, troubleshooting dispensing errors, and adapting to real-world pharmacy operations. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate the advanced practical skills, critical thinking abilities, and professional judgment required for success in diverse pharmacy environments. 9 laboratory hours.
