COMM 202 - Oral Interpretation (Advanced Verbal Message Delivery) 3 hrs (Sem II) This course develops advanced communication and performance skills through the expressive interpretation and performance of diverse texts. Oral interpretation is treated as both a dramatic art and a critical communication competency, training students to analyze, embody, and deliver written messages with vocal precision and physical presence. The curriculum is designed to serve a range of Communication, Media, and Theatre students, using a broad-spectrum approach to source material. Students in all majors are welcome to learn how to use vocal production, rhetorical analysis, characterization, and strategic message delivery to illuminate a text’s meaning and emotional impact for an audience. This course sharpens the critical ability to transition a written message into a powerful, live communication event. 3 class hours.
Speaking Intensive Course
Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better or concurrent enrollment in COMM 143 or COMM 148 .
