SOCL 245 - Sociology of Culture
3 hrs (Sem I, II)
This course takes a sociological approach, exploring ethnic identity, offering students the opportunity to delve into their own ethnic roots while gaining a deeper understanding of the major ethnic groups in the United States. Students will examine key sociological theories and concepts related to diversity with a focus on historical and contemporary issues in the United States and globally. Through discussions and critical analysis, students will gain a deeper understanding of how social institutions and cultural norms influence diverse communities. 3 class hours.
Writing Reading and Speaking Intensive Course
Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in ENGL 101 .
