NURS 100 - Nursing Fundamentals

8 hrs (Sem I)
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of therapeutic communication, teaching and learning, information technology, nursing judgment, patient-centered care, health promotion, and professionalism related to nursing practice.  The course will explore the nurse’s role in providing for basic physiological, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient. 4.5 lecture hours, 6 laboratory hours, 4.5 clinical laboratory hours.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Associate of Science in Nursing Program; and a grade of C or better or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 101  and MATH 102  or MATH 103 .
