AFLT 106 - Private Flight II


2 hrs (Sem I, II)
Students will master private pilot skills and knowledge required by the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS).  The focus of the course will be preparing for the Private Pilot Practical Exam; students will continue cross-country training with an emphasis on realistic flying scenarios in addition to regular dual and solo flights to improve skills to the levels required by the ACS.  Students will hone their knowledge of their aircraft, understand basic weather theory and be able to read and interpret aviation weather reports and forecasts, predict the performance of the aircraft in any conditions and be able to apply this knowledge to make sound decisions.  Students will be able to use knowledge of US airspace to navigate safely and legally through the National Airspace System.  Students may also elect to complete the FAA Private Pilot Practical Exam and obtain a Private Pilot Certificate. 3 lecture/laboratory hours.

Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in AFLT 105 ; and a grade of C or better or concurrent enrollment in AFLT 100 .
