NURP 105 - Nursing I
6 hrs (Sem I)
This course utilizes the fundamental knowledge and skills from NURP 100 , which will insure provision of safe, effective, nursing care to adult clients of varying age groups. It is designed to assist students in applying the nursing process to assist clients in achieving optimal wellness when confronted with common health stressors associated with the immune, musculo-skeletal, gastrointestinal, respiratory, circulatory, and endocrine systems. Integrated within the therapeutic needs are effective communication, caring, client education, nutritional modifications and commonly used drugs with emphasis on the basic classifications and the physiologic effects on the body. Students are provided the opportunity through clinical experiences to utilize the nursing process to meet the basic needs of clients with noncomplex medical and/or surgical problems. 4 lecture hours, 6 clinical laboratory hours.
Corequisite(s): NURP 100 and NURP 110 .
